Bernard J. Zapor is a violent crime subject matter expert and consultant, appearing regularly on national news. He has consulted for large corporations and serves as an expert witness. He is also a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University’s School of Criminology and Justice. A 25-year veteran of the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), his career included roles as Deputy Assistant Director in Washington, D.C., and leadership positions in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. Commissioned in 1989, he spent eight years investigating violent crimes, terrorism and conducting undercover operations in crime syndicates and extremist groups.

Mr. Zapor holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Northern Colorado and an MBA from Northcentral University. He completed leadership programs at Harvard University and is a Certified Protection Professional. A Senior Executive Service member and advisor to the Police Executive Research Forum, he has received numerous awards.
