With over 30 years of experience in federal law enforcement, criminal investigations, and security operations, Scot L. Thomasson is a nationally recognized expert in firearms-related violent crime reduction strategies. His extensive background includes leadership roles with the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), where he specialized in violent crime investigations, firearms enforcement, and intelligence strategies.
He has advised the U.S. Congress on firearm-related crime reduction policies and has trained law enforcement personnel nationally and internationally in investigative techniques. His expertise spans cross-jurisdictional data integration, artificial intelligence applications in law enforcement, and emerging security technologies.
Mr Thomasson concluded his ATF career as Chief of Firearms Operations, having received numerous awards for his contributions to law enforcement throughout his career, including the ATF Medal of Valor, the U.S. Attorney General’s Award, the Distinguished Service Medal and multiple Special Act Awards.
